Physiotherapy that empowers and nurtures

Pure Empowerment Physiotherapy is a mobile physiotherapy service that is located in Meanjin/Brisbane run by Kirsten Burke.

My vision for Pure Empowerment Physiotherapy is a service that provides holistic, person-centered support that is trauma informed, gender and neuro affirming and culturally safe. I prioritise ensuring your voice is heard, listened to and respected when working with you.

I provide support that nurtures, seeks to not only listen but to understand, and empowers you to achieve your goals- whatever they may be. From finding ways to manage your fatigue so you can do more tasks around the house, to running (or wheeling) a fun run and so much more. Your goals are yours, and I'm here as a support.

I have 10 years of experience as a physiotherapist, working in the community setting in disability, aged care and chronic illnesses.

As a physio my passion is working with people with disabilities, lifelong conditions, life limiting illnesses and chronic conditions. In particular I have a passion for working with conditions that are often misunderstood or poorly managed in the healthcare industry. This includes but is not limited to EDS, POTS, CFS/ME, as well as Cerebral Palsy, autism, MS and rare genetic presentations. I also enjoy working with those over 65 to provide the same nurturing care in areas such as Parkinson’s Disease, Post Stroke, and general age related frailty, pain or falls prevention.

I practice in a bio-psycho-social model that means I look at your entire life including your support structures, environment and goals not only your diagnosis. This ensures that I see you for who you are, and not just the label society has given you.

I look forward to meeting you and being part of your journey.
